Choreography by Heather Stewart

Music Composed by dull

Part of the Boston Dancemakers Residency. Presented by Boston Center for the Arts and Boston Dance Alliance

Reaching moments of trance through duration and repetition, “against hard air” brings you into an immersive world of sound and movement. Created by choreographer Heather Stewart, in collaboration with composer dull, “against hard air” is a new full-length creation inspired by images of vast, barren landscapes and abandoned, decaying houses. Performed by three female dancers, the work examines the ways in which we fall short, and the lengths we will go in order to reach gratification.

  • Performer Collaborators: Alyx Henigman, Jenna Pollack and Mitzi Eppley
  • Lighting Designer: Harrison Burke
  • Visual Collaborator: Will Farris
  • Choreographic Mentor: Emily Gualtieri
  • Costume Design: Mitzi Eppley

This project has been made possible by generous support from The Boston Foundation, The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), Earthdance Creative Living, The Boston Center for the Arts and The Boston Dance Alliance
