Artist Statement

Sometimes I come into the studio and just start laying out mostly found beach objects on prepared panel, or piece of wood. If I can work without a goal in mind, jump off a cliff, so to speak, by the time I leave, the layout expresses directly or indirectly what I have been feeling or focused on internally, which often surprises me! Sometimes, these objects-on-panel pieces are models for larger paintings such as the 36×36” acrylic on canvas Iceland in Early October shown below.
